James Byaruhanga is the Managing Director for Roke Cloud (ABQ Cloud), Roke Cloud is a private edge cloud platform in Uganda housed in the Raxio Data Centre and is designed to address the growing market needs from SME, Start Ups, Fintech and Innovation Sectors. Roke Cloud is Currently providing Solutions on the market through IaaS, SaaS, PaaS, Cybersecurity through Managed Firewall and Anti DDoS.

James is also currently the Acting Chief Commercial Officer at Roke Telkom and oversees Overall management of the product offering by Roke Telkom, In charge of the Enterprise, Retail, Consumer and wholesale business teams at Roke Telkom. Lead for the commercial strategy for Roke Telkom.

James was previously the General Manager for Raxio Data centre and was at the fore front of Building, Operating and Maintaining the 1st Tier III Carrier Neutral Data Centre in Uganda. James led the entire team, was part of the team that built the business strategy, products and solutions in the data centre.

With Over 23 years of experience in ISP, Cloud, Data Centre and Telco as Network & Systems Administrator, Service & Infrastructure Support, Sales, Marketing, Product Development and Executive Management. James has been very active in the Africa Telecom Sector with a passion to build the African internet ecosystem step by step.

James has previously worked in Africa Online Uganda and Ghana, MTN Uganda and MTN Group in South Africa (Consultant), Roke Telkom in Zambia and DRC in different capacities, James has also held several consulting roles in Africa for different companies including Seacom and BCS.
